There are 3 Properties of Addition.
Commutative (Order) Property of Addition: You can add numbers in any order and the sum will be the same. For example, 4+8=8+4
Identity (Zero) Property of Addition: The sum of zero and any number is that same number. For example, 6+0=6
Associative (Grouping) Property of Addition: You can group addends in any way and the sum will be the same. For example, (3+4) +6=13 and 3+ (4+6)=13.
Parentheses ( ) show what to add first.

- Today the students were super excited as they were able to log onto an educational Math website called Sumdog. (www.sumdog.com) This is a great tool to motivate students to practice their math skills. On this website students can play games and participate in math contests.
- Students were also given a Number Challenge worksheet that contains directions on a game they can play with you on Numeration. Along with the worksheet I already included 10 index cards that you can use to help your child study place value.
